MY WORK SHOWCASE
I aspire my college experience to include an array of events. I hope to find internships and volunteer opportunities that connect me to Indy and the medical field. I hope to connect to honors clubs and various groups on campus. As a student, I want to explore all I can in my classes and take advantage of the opportunities of the Honors College.
One personal goal of mine is to explore more civic engagement opportunities. One academic goal of mine is to utilize my honors contract to make connections in the PT community. Beyond my major, I want to explore more specific areas of study.
GLACURH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
GLACURH is an organization that helps the facilitation of ideas between schools. Through the organization, we provide member schools with the resources for the exchange of information to improve their campus climate and develop strong leaders at their respective institutions. I was lucky enough to be chosen as an IUPUI delegate to attend the 2020 virtual conference. This conference emphasizes team bonding activities and roundtable discussions exploring different issues affecting the regions today. My team has personally been able to represent IUPUI well and have fun doing it! This organization has improved my leadership skills and helped build my interpersonal skills.
HONORS COLLEGE
The IUPUI Honors College has given me many opportunities to spread my wings! I was the Outreach Coordinator of Honors Tower Council at University Tower. I had been in control of social media and helped to coordinate activities designed to encourage the involvement of honors students. I've also was involved in the Honors Adventure Club- where the adventure is with new friends! The Academics for Civil Engagement Club introduced me to virtual volunteering this last year. The Honors Arts and Culture Society has encouraged me to explore my creative side. Overall, the honors college has given me new experiences, new friends, and new admiration of IUPUI! Being part of such a great organization has given me so many resources to help me on my path to becoming a PT.
CHRISTIAN STUDENT FELLOWSHIP
This organization has been a step out of my comfort zone. I was, at first, afraid to, publicly explore my religion. I was encouraged by a friend to attend an in-person bible study, and since then I haven't looked back. From zoom meetings to in-person meetings in our leader's apartment, our small group has come together to share in the Lord's word. We discuss Bible verses and our personal struggles with God in a safe space. I have felt comfortable enough to contribute to conversations and bring my own journal. I even was asked to share my personal experiences on CSF's Worship Night. This organization has given me the inspiration to work on my relationship with God and to live by His word.
